Check out our new wall art

Apollo Elementary is excited about their new wall art displayed on the front of the school building!  The artist is Chris Opp who has been commissioned to do several projects in town such as Airline High School, Bossier City Welcome signs, and Margaritaville.  This is the first 3-D sign Chris has done.  Chris also has a showing of his works at the Bossier Arts Council until the end of July.

North Pole Santa Breakfast

Providence House.jpg

On Saturday, December 6th, Twisted Sisters Catering & Event Planning were honored to host a North Pole Santa Breakfast for the residents living at The Providence House! Our main goal was to bring the Magic of Christmas to children by going on a North Pole Experience!  We were thrilled to do this for them and have been amazed by the generosity of our community & volunteers. Several of our volunteers came from different Bossier Parish Schools!  Adleigh Porter & Reya Lang represented Apollo Elementary School. Not only did we brighten the day for 35 children but, we also were able to collect many donations as well! Through Facebook campaigning we collected $1,000 in donations.  Three iPad's were donated for their child development center along with a Sam's gift card for everyday necessities. We also collected toys, clothes, coloring books, crayons, art supplies, & so much more! We just wanted to share how thankful we are that we had volunteers from your outstanding schools. We love the fact that we live in a community that truly cares & remembers the true Reason of the Season!

There are plenty of them at Bossier Schools. You know the ones. Those who go above and beyond the call of duty. Those whose actions exceed their job description.

There is no question the employees of Bossier Schools are what set our school system apart. From teachers and custodians to food service workers and counselors, they are all an important part of the Bossier Schools family and we want to recognize the ones who deserve a gold star.

Last year, nine “Gold Stars” were singled out and awarded. Now, we are ready to do it for a second year, thanks again to the gracious support of Bossier Federal Credit Union.

Here’s how it works. If you would like to recognize someone as a “Gold Star” award recipient, nominate them!

When you go to www.BossierSchools.org just click on the gold star at the top of the home page.

It does not matter if you are a parent, colleague or community member. Anyone can nominate a Bossier Schools employee to be a “Gold Star.” Each month new entries will be accepted and judged by a committee. So keep nominating those that are deserving of a special pat on the back.

Let us hear from you who deserves the gold!
